I've stayed at most the resorts on Moorea and the one I didn't stay at we've been to several times checking it out. There were 4 major resorts but now only 3 ...

We've purchased vanilla beans, vanilla paste and vanilla extract. We have purchased a few beans as well as a whole kilo when the price was right. The best place to buy vanilla beans is on the island of Tahaa. There are several places on the main road around Tahaa as well as circle the island excursions.

A decade ago there were no taxis close to the tender drop off location on Bora Bora. Now there are usually several sitting within walking distance ready to take you around the island. Most visitors grab a ride to Matira Beach or Bloody Mary's ... here is a map to show you where to grab a taxi.

Huahine is a wonderful island to drive around on your own. Most tourist only see Huahine Nui (the larger part). Though beautiful and all sorts of interesting places to see and visit the real gem IMO is Huahine-Iti. Off the beaten trek and less tourist the south end is filled with panoramic vistas and little cafes.

We've been traveling to Bora Bora for 3 decades ... we've seen resorts come and go. There are several top notch resorts but in my opinion one stands out from the rest ....

This is one of the questions I get most often. When your cruise ship is visiting Moorea many just want to veg at a resort. This resort is a winner ... I've stayed here for a week and it is the best day use resort on Moorea IMO.

I love the resorts and would encourage those going for the first time to enjoy a resort for a pre/post cruise stay. However, when you've been as many times as us you look at ways to save some money ... so here is my favorite inexpensive place to stay on the island of Tahiti.
